Submitted by Calvin McCarthy on Thursday, 6 August 2009No Comment

Pay per click (PPC) is an advertising platform where you pay a search engine for every visitor they refer to your website. You can use content advertising which allows you to embed your ads next to articles on your favorite websites, or you can advertise next to search engine listings.

PPC Tip #1 – Create Dynamic Titles

Pay per click is one of the, if not the, first accepted form of affiliate marketing, that saw the light of day with the onset of the Internet. It is not be the most widely used nowadays, thanks to many fraud jobs using the pay per click way and the relatively less income that comes out of it due to superior and more preferred methods like pay per action and pay per sale. But one can’t deny that it started it all. It’s fairly simple: if someone clicks on the ad or banner you have placed on your website, you earn.

PPC Tip #2 – Avoid Broad Keywords

Some beginners make the mistake of using broad keywords when they start out with pay per click marketing. What do we mean by broad? Well, this refers to using general keywords or phrases. One example is the phrase “tennis shoes.” This is a very general keyword phrase and the ad will show up when people search for the words “tennis” and “shoes” and they can be in any order and with other terms as well. While it can a good campaign for more experienced marketers, if you are just beginning, using broad keywords is not the way to go.

PPC Tip #3 – Test Different Ads

The best way to achieve great results for your legitimate internet based business is by continually testing and tweaking your AdWords campaigns and when you know what works for you then run with it. This way you will achieve success, so long as you stay within the budget you have set and you don’t get carried away.

PPC Tip #4 – Track ROI and Conversion

Tracking will help to see who is currently on your website and track visitor’s behavior. A complete report based on the history of sessions, page usage, browser usage, OS usage can be generated.

PPC Tip #5 – Stick with Your Budget

Once you have a budget worked out for yourself, make sure you keep it on hand a budget is useless if you don’t use it. Update it often, and feel free to make changes and alterations if you need to. Think of your budget as a fluid, living document. Your needs may change from month to month or quarter to quarter, and your budget should reflect that. Finally, don’t get discouraged if you go over budget one month. Remember, it’s a tool, a guideline. If you use it correctly, it will help you achieve long-term financial stability.
